Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-06-17
These terms are a contract between you and RETRUVAI Ltd, trading as retru·vai ("we", "us"), the company that runs the Stuart event app and the prep tool ("the service"). RETRUVAI Ltd is incorporated in England & Wales (company number 17076193, incorporated 7 March 2025), with registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. By signing in and using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These terms apply alongside our Privacy Notice. Please read both. Sections 1 to 14 apply to both products. Section 15 sets out extra terms for the Stuart event app.
You must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be acting in a professional or personal capacity that does not breach these terms.
- Not have been previously suspended by us.
You may use the service from anywhere, but the contract is with a UK company and is governed by English law.
You sign in using a magic link sent to your email. Keep your email account secure. We treat anyone signed in with your link as you.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. When you do, we delete the information described in our Privacy Notice.
The service is for preparing for your own one-on-one meetings. You may:
- Paste your own background information.
- Paste information about the person you are meeting, where you have no reason to believe doing so would breach a contract, confidence, or platform terms you are bound by (see Section 6).
- Save and revisit your prep cards.
- Use the chat continuation to refine a card.
You may use the service free of charge during the current beta. We may introduce paid tiers in future; we will tell you in advance.
You must not:
- Use the service to harass, stalk, defame, or otherwise harm anyone.
- Paste information you obtained unlawfully or in breach of any contract or duty of confidence.
- Paste content from private messages, emails, or other non-public correspondence unless the writer (or all parties to the correspondence) has clearly consented to you using it for this purpose.
- Paste content that reveals another person's health, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, political views, trade union membership, or criminal history. The service is configured to refuse this and will log the attempt.
- Use the service to build a database, list, or directory of people for any purpose. Prep cards are for your own use, one meeting at a time.
- Use automation to access the service. Manual use only.
- Resell, sublicense, or expose the service to third parties.
- Attempt to extract our system prompts, fine-tune a model on our outputs, or otherwise reverse-engineer the service.
- Use the service in a way that breaches any law or the terms of any third-party platform you got the content from.
When you paste content into the service, you confirm that:
- You are entitled to use it for this purpose.
- It does not come from private correspondence the writer would not expect you to share.
- It does not contain the special-category content listed above.
- You will not use the output for any purpose listed in Section 5.
You remain the controller of decisions you make about other people based on prep cards. The service is a tool to help you prepare. It does not decide anything for you. A prep card is not a recommendation, a recruitment decision, a credit decision, or any other decision with legal effect.
You agree to indemnify us against any claim from a third party arising from your breach of Section 5 or Section 6, except to the extent caused by our own breach of these terms.
Our use of your information is described in our Privacy Notice. The notice that applies to people whose information you enter is at notice to non-users. Please make sure you are comfortable with both.
We may suspend or terminate your access if:
- You break these terms.
- We detect activity that suggests abuse or risk to others.
- We are required to by law.
We will tell you when we suspend or terminate, unless we cannot for legal or safety reasons.
You can terminate by deleting your account.
We work hard to make the service useful and accurate, but we do not guarantee it. AI outputs can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. You must use your own judgement. Do not rely on a prep card for any decision with legal or significant personal effect.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
For everything else, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at £100 or the amount you have paid us in that period, whichever is greater.
We may change these terms. If the change is material, we will give you 30 days' notice by email. If you do not accept the change, your remedy is to stop using the service and delete your account.
These terms are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

These terms apply when you use Stuart, our event companion app, in addition to Sections 1 to 14.
15.1 Joining an event
You join an event with a short code from the organiser, and you check in at the door by scanning a rotating door code. The organiser decides who is invited. We act as the organiser's processor for the invite list, and as a joint controller with the organiser for the matching that happens at their event. Our Privacy Notice explains who is responsible for what.
15.2 Matching is a suggestion, not a decision
Stuart suggests people you might want to meet. A suggestion is not advice, an endorsement, a recommendation, or a decision. We do not check, vet, or vouch for any other attendee. You decide who to approach and how, and you are responsible for your own conduct at the event. Nothing Stuart shows you removes your own judgement.
15.3 Proximity and notifications
Stuart uses short-range Bluetooth, in the foreground only, to tell which attendees are near you, and sends push notifications about matches and the event. You can turn proximity and notifications off in the app or in your device settings. Bluetooth and notification behaviour depends on your device and operating system, which are outside our control.
15.4 How you must behave at an event
You must:
- Treat other attendees with respect, and not harass, intimidate, stalk, or harm anyone, in the app or in person.
- Not share, screenshot, or repost another attendee's profile, photo, or anything you learn through the app outside the event.
- Not use Stuart, or anything you see in it, to build a list or database of people.
- Follow the organiser's and the venue's rules.
A profile photo that another attendee chooses to reveal to you is shown to you alone, briefly, for that meeting. You must not capture or redistribute it.
15.5 Safety and safeguarding
Stuart is for adults only: you must be 18 or over. You can add someone to an avoid-list, block someone, or report a concern to our safeguarding lead from inside the app. We may suspend or remove you from an event, and tell the organiser, if you behave in a way that risks the safety of others. In an emergency, contact venue security or the emergency services. Stuart is not a personal-safety or emergency service.
15.6 We are not responsible for who you meet
We help you find people to talk to. We are not responsible for the conduct of other attendees, for what is said or done in a meeting we suggest, or for any relationship, arrangement, or outcome that follows. The liability cap in Section 11 applies.
